Like many other states, Wisconsin has recently established a new program to help accommodate seniors. A new Medicare prescription drug program was released by the federal government in 2006. They call this program the Wisconsin Senior Care prescription program and as you can imagine the Wisconsin Senior Care program has a lot of rules to be followed and a lot of paperwork to be filled out to prove a person’s eligibility.
If you meet the eligibility criteria then the Wisconsin Senior Care program can assist you meet the cost of your prescription medications and make life a lot easier on you financially. Here are some of the guidelines for the Wisconsin Senior Care program for you to consider.

You cannot begin to enjoy the benefits of the Wisconsin senior care program until you reach the age of 65 years. You are, however, permitted to apply for entry into the program a month before your 65th birthday.

You can get the required documentation that you need to complete either online or at any aging center. If you get the documents from the latter you can have someone at an aging center assist you with the paper work. If you do not currently have a social security number you will be required to get one prior to receiving benefits.

Costs And Other Guidelines

The Wisconsin Senior Care program costs each eligible person $30 per year. If you are a couple you will not get a discount. There will be co-payments contribution payable by the benefit holder for each prescription filled.

Legal migrants are encouraged to apply for the Wisconsin Senior Care and it is not necessary to send a copy of your immigration papers unless you are asked to send them in. Anyone that meets the income criteria and the age criteria are welcome to apply for entry into the program which has been designed to assist as many elderly people as it possibly can.
